for all your hard work on a cause you believe is just, and the harder work that lay ahead, Bush shafts you, your support infrastructure, and your families. While you're out protecting American interests abroad and trying to sow a little democracy (at least when Bremer isn't cancelling the elections you've set up) the people who are protecting your folks back home are grossly underfunded. The judiciary isn't going to help you when your government reneges on promised benefits, but Bush already cut $14.6 billion in said promises so you may not have any promises to sue for in the last place. In the meantime Rumsfeld is paying lip service to peacekeeping (talking about the US training peacekeepers is just a funny idea) but there's no corresponding talk about training you for the job, even though half of you are currently employed in the task - given that they've abolished the one program set up for that purpose the White House apparently feels you aren't up to the job.
Talk about a vote of no confidence.
