WaPo Shocker: Obama Staffers Attend Secret Dinners With Lefty Media

No Brit Hume, no George Will, not even a Charles Krauthammer? Shocking, eh? Or more like expected.

That whistling you hear is the wind rushing through the canyons of my skull, as my brain has melted out my nose. No George Will, not even a Charles Krauthhammer:

During a three-hour dinner conclave at columnist George Will's Chevy Chase home Tuesday night, Obama charmed eight of the right's most prominent commentators, mixing small talk and policy debate in a move that mesmerized the media elite.

Besides Krauthammer and Kudlow, Will's guests were Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol, New York Times columnist David Brooks, Wall Street Journal Editorial Page Editor Paul Gigot, Journal columnist Peggy Noonan and Fox News commentator Michael Barone.

And he never ever talks to Brit Hume. Next thing you know he'll be marching the conservative media off to their fema trailers, he hates them so so much.

    This graf is extra enlightening:

"It buys him some pulled punches," said New Republic writer Michael Crowley. "Taking the edge off criticism he might get in the conservative media is a shrewd thing that comes at zero cost, except for a bit of grumbling on some blogs."

Indeed, rather than throwing half-rational punches that make some sort of actual sense they've settled on irrational, panicked swings at thin air.
