Paul Berman shares some real wisdom for a change, “You have to remember that the intellectuals are usually wrong." Apparenlty they also lack the 'moral clarity' they're always preaching about to admit they were wrong, and so choose to continue to be wrong. The flip side of the coin are wingnuts who are busy blaming people in no way responsible for any of the policy for the fact that they're the ones who were wrong. If anybody made the "debate" before the war the circle-jerk it was it was the liberal hawks - who could have pithily dispatched all the wingnuts on the right handily and left some room for conservative realists to come to their senses - who left left the anti-war position to be articulated in the media by Hollywood squares that the liberal hawks pithily dispatched. Thanks a boatload.
