    the 'establishment' in foreign policy:

Jim Henley links to a fine article in Mother Jones that explains how one core Bush administration policy regarding Iraq was largley built on top foundations built up by the Clinton administration: lying, or however one cares to describe it, about weapons of mass destruction. Other Bush foreign policy cues taken from the Clinton administration include, among others: making war on countries without any legitemate basis; turning democracy into a weapon; supporting Ahmed Chalabi and the INC; enforcing economic sanctions legally justified on the basis of disarmament against innocent populations on the pretext of an illegal policy of regime change, thusly requiring the aforementioned policy of lying.
