It's also a reasonable basis to suppose that thomas frank has a point that conservatives will come out on top of any "corrupt government" campaign - a popularly refrained frame for lameduck democrats: because the desire for "smaller government" is seated deep in any kulak who's dealt with it, and liberals have only gotten as far as laying claim to "fiscal tightwad". That's turned out well: the balanced budget fetish in electoral campaigns is a lame derivative of the real duck.
A not entirely unrelated bitch: I just served jury duty not a month ago, and here's another summons demanding my presence in someplace called Rolling Meadows, wherever the hell that is. Cook county someplace, that could be anywhere.
