Support the troops, don't give them nightmares:
Former head of Pentagon DU munitions project, Professor Doug Rokke, denounces their use, and "two 120mm high velocity depleted uranium rounds straight down the main road, creating a powerful vacuum that literally sucked guerrillas out from their hideaways into the street", para-quoting the Balochistan Post as saying "their flesh and blood was also sucked out of their bodies".
The tank unit commander, who refused to give his name, said the scene was "mad chaos like you cannot imagine".
He told MSNBC, "You couldn't see anything except all those hues of red and the sound of fire from all sides. I'll have nightmares about it."
Did you know our 60-year old monopoly on Saudi oil ends in 2005? Not having invested much in the oil angle this would be the first time I heard about it. Call it the rule of unofficial beneficial consequences, I guess.
"In anticipation of the Baghdad regime's fall, members of this interim government have begun arriving in Kuwait. Decisions on the government's composition appear to be entirely in US hands, particularly those of Paul Wolfowitz". It's reportedly being head up by exiled-for-50-odd-years ex-Iraqi-oligarch Ahmed Chalabi. The first leg installed by today.
