In Turkey, between 2000-2005, 284 books were confiscated. Merely this year, 22 publishers, 47 writers, 49 books have been adjudicated. 11 of these charges have been aquitted, but 11 have been convicted, 2 of them were nolle prosequi. Lawsuits about 25 books are being executed.

A 10 second google search doesn't reveal much more detail about the above 11 convictions, and I'm packing. Take that both are disconcerting restrictions of the freedom of discourse, how does the European state intervention in the study and discussion of history compare or not compare to the Turkish invervention, given the latter's continued interest in joining the formers' union.
