The private sector should take the leading role in most areas of the economy because it is more innovative and more willing to take risks than the public sector. However, it is not clear that we want a lot of innovation in the secondary mortgage market.
Well, they had a good 40 year run of socializing the risk of it, didn't they.
As an additional bonus, we can continue to explore the ideology of Bunlongism through the prism of a federal seizure of private firms:
