In the past year and a half numerous governments have availed themselves to the disappearances of individuals guilty of nothing more than doing what I'm doing right now. Perhaps there's something to the argument that because my government is cutting down dissident Iraqis in the streets of Mosul I am allowed the freedom to vent my private disgust publically. But who needs the government when US citizens take it upon themselves? China, Vietnam, and Tunisia apparently feel obligated, lacking some foreign target to vent their aggression upon, to take it out on their own populations.
