absurd. The ruling from OFAC from last September argues that any translation or editing of materials from Iran does not fall under exemptions relating to the transfer of information, ie.:

"The exemption does not apply, however, to transactions related to information and informational materials not fully created and in existence at the date of the transactions, the substantive or artistic alteration or enhancement of informational materials, or to the provision of marketing and business consulting services"

With respect to translation and copy-editing this is terminally stupid, whereas this is just terminally misinformed.
