Today we're talking about cracks in the damn, the ones slipping through them, and the ocean of mindlessly jabbering, empty talking heads on the other side. The kinds of controls on bandwidth they're talking about would nullify most of the possibilities of online education projects and intesify the technology gap something awful, among other problems.

In consideration of the fact that tax payers foot the vast majority of the bill for the technological research, the underlying software, and the nationwide infrastructure for the net (and continue to finance a great deal of it) this just amounts to another massive corporate subsidy. It's the exact same shit that happened in every other form of media - raise the cost of entry, lock out the small guy: which exactly what will happen if this kind of pricing scheme starts being applied to outgoing bandwidth and hosting.
