Updating RMS's homepage (on this cycle he's also written a brief, well stated article about dealing with biological patents, well worth considering whatever his deficits in compromising charm) I ran into this story, about the use of 'Diesel Therapy' in US prisons. Presumably this method hasn't been erradictated since these reports barely made the news during the early 90s.

It's not surprising, I suppose, that such torture methods (and for no purpose but simple cruelty) are used in our prison system, albiet I'm a little surprised it was used on a 12-term, 63 year old conservative congressman that apparently proposed a more thorough CSPAN-like system ahead of his time - and was dissappeared by this legal system for years, long before the "PATRIOT" act. It's still appalling to read reports of it.

If you look around this gets promoted by a lot of New World Order conspiracists, who I'm still trying to figure out.
